“For: The Essentials Blue Online Worship History Course with Dan Wilt“
This week we were asked to reflect on the theological ideas related to God’s nature, His purpose in the world, and the role of human beings and write a summary “worldview” document. This is my summary statement of belief.
“A Christian Worldview”
Of Creation, Redemption, the Kingdom of God
And The New Creation
****
There is One God, our Father, God of the universe, creator of Heaven and Earth. God created us “in His image” so that we would show forth His glory in the world. We are the mirror image in which God looks to see Himself. We are the reflection of the glory of God, which was the purpose and intention of God originally.
Mankind fell from his first origins and destroyed the glory of God, and the mirror was broken. Mankind, in his fallen state has forgotten who he is, where he came from and what his purpose is in this world.
Therefore, through His great mercy, God sent for His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us and to draw us back to Him again. Through Jesus, the Kingdom of God arrived and a new creation began.
With heaven and earth interlocking and intermingling we hear the echoes of God’s voice reminding us of our purpose and His plan for the world. When the Kingdom of God begins to break through the voice becomes clearer and we experience God’s presence. The Kingdom of God is the fellowship of God in Christ.
Through our faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit works within us to renew our hearts and minds. We begin to long for righteousness and holiness. We are spiritually changed and we begin to remember what God’s purpose is for us and the world.
Our life goal is to glorify God in Christ in all we say and do. We must take hold of God’s word and join in with the people of God to proclaim the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord. We are called to tell the story of God’s creation and redemption.
We must remind ourselves what we are here for and be courageous as we travel though this world together to God’s New Jerusalem.
When Christ returns there will be a new heaven and a new earth. The people of God will once again fully reflect back to God the radiance of His worth and glory in a new and perfect body as we worship, work, play, dance and sing in God’s New Creation.
This is a study course?
Need input!
Thanks.
Bruce, You can go to http://www.essentialscourse.com to check out the course information or click on the link at top of my post. The studies are in Worship Theology, history & values for worship leaders, musicians, pastors, and worshippers. This is the second module I have taken with the Worship Institute and I have enjoyed it tremendously. A third module “Essentials Red” begins next week, I believe. But you can choose what module you want to begin with and choose the dates that work for you.
Thanks for dropping by my blog site.
